The Milenco OptiMate 6 is a 12V smart charger built to properly maintain a leisure or starter battery over time, not just deliver a quick charge before a trip.

A multi-step automatic programme

It analyses the battery, then moves through recovery or desulfation, charging, testing and maintenance stages on its own, with Ampmatic control adjusting the charge to the battery's size and condition. It's designed to be left connected for long periods without overcharging.

Protection while it works

The charger is spark-safe, reverse-polarity protected and short-circuit protected, in a weather-resistant casing with clear status LEDs. It's suited to deep-cycle and starter 12V lead-acid batteries, including flooded, AGM, gel and EFB types, and works across motorhomes, caravans, campervans, cars, motorcycles and boats.

What comes with it

In the box: the charger unit, a crocodile clamp quick-connect lead, a fused ring-terminal lead for permanent fitting, a mains lead and a user guide. Fitting the ring-terminal lead lets you plug in easily whenever parked — match red to positive and black to negative, and keep the area ventilated while charging.
