Spring Maintenance Guide for Your Mirror Protectors

Motorhome mirrors take a battering over a season of touring — tight gateways, hedgerows and the occasional careless manoeuvre all leave their mark. The Milenco Chrome Mirror Covers (Wide Arm) are precision-moulded to fit wide-arm mirror housings on Fiat Ducato, Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Relay models from 2007 onwards, both protecting the mirror shell and giving it a smarter chrome finish.

Checking your current covers

Before the season starts, check any existing covers are still firmly bonded — the 3M adhesive backing should hold securely, but age and repeated washing can weaken it over time. Look for lifting edges or cracks, since a loose cover can rattle or come away entirely.

Fitting or refitting

Clean the mirror housing with isopropyl alcohol and make sure it's completely dry before applying new covers. In cold weather, warming the adhesive and mirror surface slightly helps it bond properly. Press firmly for 30–60 seconds once aligned, and avoid power washing the area for 24 hours to let the adhesive cure. Avoid waxes or silicone dressings on the bonding area, as these will stop the adhesive taking hold.
