Grand Aero Platinum Mirrors Twin Pack: Complete Review and Guide

The Grand Aero Platinum Mirrors Twin Pack pairs Milenco's wide-view Grand Aero mirror head with its latest Platinum clamp system. It's supplied as a pair, one mirror for each side, and is designed for caravans up to 2.55 metres wide.

Clamp and fit

The Platinum clamp body is larger than on previous Aero versions and can accept mirror bezels up to 25 millimetres thick. The sprung gripper plates are more than fifty per cent larger than the pads used on the Aero 3, giving a wider contact area that shapes itself to the vehicle's mirror housing for improved grip and reduced vibration. This is designed to fit almost all modern cars, 4x4s and vans, including those with the very tapered, aerodynamic mirror bezels common on newer models; Milenco can confirm compatibility for your specific vehicle if needed.

Build

The arm has a larger diameter for added stability, and the aerodynamic mirror head is shaped to help balance airflow around the vehicle and further reduce movement. Stainless steel and brass are used at key load-bearing points to resist corrosion, and the mirror glass is high quality chrome glass for a long service life.

What to expect on the road

The Platinum clamp significantly reduces movement compared with older mirror styles, though some light vibration may still occur on rough roads or in strong winds – this is normal for extended towing mirrors and shouldn't affect the clarity of your rearward view once properly fitted. Even tightening of the clamps and careful alignment give the best results.

Grand Aero Platinum mirrors are fully homologated and type-approved to the international standard UN 46-4, and are suitable for vehicles towing caravans up to the maximum legal width permitted in the UK and EU, providing a field of view intended to meet current towing visibility requirements.
