Essential Maintenance Tips for Wheel Trims

Milenco's push-fit wheel trims need minimal upkeep, but a few habits help keep them secure and looking good.

After fitting

Clean the rim before fitting, align the trim to the valve stem, and press evenly around the edge until it's fully seated — an uneven fit is the most common cause of a trim working loose later.

Ongoing checks

Check trims are still secure after the first few miles of driving and again at routine stops — vibration during travel can reveal a trim that wasn't fully seated.

Before tyre work

Always remove trims before tyre changes or wheel balancing to avoid damaging them or the retention clips.

Cleaning

A regular wash removes road grime and helps chrome and silver finishes keep their shine; avoid abrasive cleaners that could scratch the surface.
