The Milenco Universal External Thermal Blind is a one-size, all-season windscreen cover for motorhome cabs, designed to help keep the cab cooler in summer, reduce heat loss in winter, and prevent the interior condensation that so often fogs up a windscreen overnight. With the right care, it should give many seasons of reliable use.
The blind uses an elasticated edge combined with the cab's closed doors to hold it securely in place, so there are no straps pulling across the paintwork. Mirror cut-outs let it wrap neatly around the screen on chassis cabs including Fiat Ducato, Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and Vito, Peugeot Boxer, Renault Master and VW Transporter. Fitting it evenly each time, with the cut-outs properly aligned to the mirrors, reduces strain on the elastic and helps it sit flat.
The zip-down vision panel lets you check outside or let in daylight without removing the whole cover. Operate the zip gently and avoid forcing it if it snags — a light rub of the zip's teeth with a dry cloth from time to time keeps it running smoothly.
Wipe the blind clean with mild soap and water; Milenco advises against harsh chemicals. Because the cover is often removed while still slightly damp from morning condensation, it's worth letting it air dry fully before folding it into its supplied storage sleeve — packing it away wet is one of the most common causes of mildew and creasing in blinds like this.
Before each touring season, check the elasticated edge for any signs of stretching or fraying, and check the mirror cut-outs haven't torn at the seams. Catching small issues early is far easier than dealing with a blind that no longer holds a taut, secure fit.
Store the blind in its sleeve somewhere dry rather than left folded in a damp cab locker. The material is temperature tested from -20°C to +50°C for use on the vehicle, but for longevity in storage, a dry cupboard or garage shelf is a better home than anywhere that stays damp.
