Essential Maintenance Tips for myCOOLMAN Coolers & Ice Boxes

myCOOLMAN by Milenco – Portable Cooling & Outdoor Storage Range – Fridge/Freezers, Iceboxes, Soft Coolers & Accessories

A hard cooler like the myCOOLMAN 38L Icebox doesn't need power, but a bit of routine care keeps the insulation and seals doing their job properly.

Pre-chill before you pack

Pre-chill the cooler itself and its contents before loading, and use quality ice or gel packs rather than a small amount of loose ice — this is myCOOLMAN's own recommended approach and makes a noticeable difference to how long the box stays cold.

Keep it closed and shaded

Keep the cooler out of direct sun where possible, and close the lid between uses rather than leaving it open while you unpack. The tight-sealing lid can only do its job if it's actually shut.

Use the drain plug

The large drain plug is there for quick, tidy emptying of meltwater — use it rather than tipping the whole box over, which risks spilling food or drinks along with the water.

After the trip

Rinse the cooler out after each trip and store it dry with the lid slightly ajar, rather than sealed shut while still damp. This helps prevent any lingering odours and keeps the latches and seal in good condition for next time.
