Essential Maintenance Tips for Multi- Locks

A door lock is only as good as its fitting, so keeping the Milenco Multi Lock Door Lock properly maintained means checking both the mechanism and the mounting it relies on.

Check the fixings regularly

The lock is fitted using stainless-steel screws, and it's worth checking periodically that these haven't worked loose, particularly on a door that gets used daily. A loose fixing undermines the rattle-free design the lock is built around.

Keep the door-frame gap clear

If you've fitted the lock using the door-frame mounting method, it relies on a minimum 3.5mm gap to work correctly — check this gap hasn't been reduced by a build-up of dirt, a swollen door frame in wet weather, or an adjustment elsewhere on the door.

Look after the finish

The powder-coated body is built for durability, but wiping it down occasionally keeps grit from working its way into the mechanism, particularly if the lock is mounted somewhere exposed to road spray.

Test both positions

Because this lock can secure a door in both the open and closed position, it's worth testing both from time to time rather than only ever using one — that way you'll notice early if either function starts to feel stiff or uneven.
