Essential Maintenance Tips for Mirror Protectors

Milenco Mirror Covers – Chrome – Wide Arm Motorhome Mirrors – Pair (5432) – Ducato/Relay/Boxer 2007+

Looking after the Milenco Fiat Ducato 25 Mirror Bumper Protectors is straightforward, and Milenco is specific about what to use — and what to avoid.

Cleaning

Simply wash the protectors with soapy water. This is the only cleaning method Milenco recommends, and it's enough to keep them looking presentable and free of the road grime that mirrors pick up on longer trips.

What not to use

Milenco is explicit that harsh chemicals, resin polishes or paint seals should not be used on the protectors, as these will severely degrade the surface. It's worth being careful here if you're giving the rest of the van a thorough valet at the same time — keep anything stronger than soapy water away from the mirror protectors specifically.

Checking the fit

Since the protectors are secured with a screw-on clip, it's worth periodically checking they're still seated securely, particularly after a trip where the mirrors have taken any knocks — the whole point of the protector is to absorb that impact, so a loose fitting after a scrape is worth investigating.

Long-term care

Kept clean with soapy water and away from harsh chemicals, these protectors are built to give years of reliable service protecting the mirror underneath.
