Essential Maintenance Tips for Carpetina

Milenco Carpetina Classic - Breathable Woven Awning Carpet - 5.0 m x 2.5 m - Green - Original Site-Friendly Groundsheet

Carpetina Classic is built to be hard-wearing, but a few simple habits will keep it performing well and lasting longer between trips.

Laying it down

Milenco recommends laying the carpet on a smooth, debris-free surface, and pegging it down with awning-carpet pegs if needed to stop it shifting in windy conditions. Clearing sharp debris from the pitch first also helps protect the weave from snagging.

Trimming around obstacles

The carpet can be trimmed to shape with scissors to fit around poles or wheels, and the cut edges won't unravel afterwards, so don't be afraid to cut it to fit your specific pitch layout rather than working around it.

Cleaning

Being an open weave design, Carpetina Classic shakes clean easily, which is usually enough for everyday dust and grass clippings picked up on site.

Drying and storage

Rinse and dry the carpet thoroughly before storing it — the polypropylene material is rot-resistant and UV-stable, but packing it away wet undermines that durability over time. Roll it up compact once dry rather than folding, and avoid placing hot items directly on the fabric while it's in use.
