The Milenco Adaptor (SKU 1717) solves a specific towing mismatch: a car with a 13-pin Euro socket towing a trailer or caravan wired with an older 7-pin plug.

What it does

The adaptor converts the vehicle's 13-pin socket to a 7-pin trailer plug, for road lights only — indicators, brake, tail and fog lights. It gives a secure, weather-resistant connection without any rewiring.

What it does not do

This adaptor is for lighting circuits only. Milenco is explicit that it is not intended to power auxiliary caravan circuits, such as fridge or leisure battery charging, so if your caravan relies on the 13-pin supply for those functions, this adaptor alone will not cover it.

Fitting

It is a simple plug-in fit with no tools or wiring involved. Push it fully home until it latches, and check that all lights are functioning correctly before you set off towing.

Practical notes

The adaptor is compact enough to keep in the glovebox as a spare, which is useful if you occasionally tow with a different vehicle. Store it dry when not in use to keep the connections in good condition.
