A corner steady lock is a simple, low-cost way to add an extra layer of security to a caravan or trailer by stopping the corner steady legs being wound up, which helps prevent a tow-away theft attempt. Milenco makes three different designs, and which one you need depends on the type of corner steady your caravan has.
The Caravan Leg Nut Lock fits onto the corner steady leg nut and locks the leg in the down position. It's designed to be easy to fit and robust in use, and Milenco recommends it as an added layer alongside a wheel clamp and hitchlock rather than a standalone measure. It's also available as a keyed-alike pair for locking two corner steadies with one key pattern.
For open, uncovered corner steadies without tubes, Milenco's Adjustable Corner Steady Lock locks the central shaft so the legs stay down. Unlike basic designs that can be defeated with pliers by turning the shaft, this mechanism is built to prevent shaft rotation. It's supplied as a pair with two keys.
Where the corner steady has a tube, this version secures the central shaft of tube-type steadies in the same way, again preventing the shaft being turned with pliers to defeat it. It's supplied as a single lock with two keys and fits all European corner steadies with tubes.
Look at your corner steadies before ordering: leg-nut style, open uncovered shaft, or tube-type shaft each need a different lock. A genuine replacement leg nut receiver is also available as a spare part for the Leg Nut Lock range if the original wears out or goes missing.
