If your caravan or trailer is wider than your car, UK law requires you to have an adequate rear view and to fit suitable towing mirrors — driving without them can mean a fine of up to £1,000 and 3 penalty points. Milenco's Aero Mirror range is built to meet that need across a range of vehicle and caravan widths.
The current-generation design builds on earlier Aero mirrors with gripper plates more than fifty per cent larger than those on the Aero 3, for improved grip and stability. The Platinum clamp has increased depth to accept mirror bezels up to 25mm thick, and a larger-diameter arm gives enough reach for caravans up to 2.55 metres wide. Stainless steel and brass are used in key load-bearing areas for corrosion resistance, and the mirror glass is high-quality chrome glass.
This combines the same wide-view Grand Aero head and Platinum clamp system, with sprung gripper plates over fifty per cent larger than the Aero 3's, and is homologated and type-approved to the international standard UN 46-4.
For extra-wide caravans, the XXL versions use a longer arm — around 41cm versus the standard 31cm — giving a wider field of view, particularly useful with a narrow car and a wide caravan. The Grand Aero 3 XXL's aerodynamic head has been tested at speeds up to 220km/h.
A simpler single flat mirror using the same chrome safety glass and stainless-steel-in-brass fixings, usable on either side of the vehicle.
All the clamp-based Aero mirrors are designed to fit most cars, 4x4s and vans, including tapered or curved mirror housings, though Milenco recommends contacting them with your vehicle details if you want fit confirmed in advance.
