The Milenco OptiMate 10 is a 10A smart charger aimed at higher-output charging and long-term maintenance of 12V lead-acid batteries — flooded, AGM, gel and EFB/Start-Stop types — on motorhomes, caravans, vans, cars and boats.

What sets it apart from the smaller OptiMate models

Where the OptiMate 6 is a general-purpose maintainer, the 10A output on this model gives faster, controlled charging for larger leisure batteries. It runs the same kind of automatic programme — analysing the battery and applying the correct stage, including save/recover, charge, maintain and test — with temperature-smart control that adjusts to the battery's size and condition. A desulfation mode is included to help recover sulphated batteries, and there's also a power supply mode for diagnostics or maintaining voltage during jobs like an ECU memory swap.

Safety and build

It's fully automatic, spark-safe, reverse-polarity and short-circuit protected, with a weather-resistant casing suited to both workshop and touring use, and status LEDs to show charge progress and battery check results.
