The Grand Aero Platinum Mirrors Twin Pack combines Milenco's wide-view Grand Aero head with its newer Platinum clamp system, sold as a pair — one mirror for each side of the vehicle.

The clamp system

The Platinum clamp body is larger than earlier Aero versions and can accept mirror bezels up to 25 mm thick. Its sprung gripper plates are more than fifty per cent larger than those on the Aero 3, giving a wider contact area so the mirror can form to the shape of the vehicle's mirror housing for improved grip and reduced vibration — particularly useful on the tapered, aerodynamic mirror bezels common on newer vehicles.

Stability and materials

A larger diameter arm adds stability and is long enough for caravans up to 2.55 metres wide. The aerodynamic mirror head is shaped to balance airflow around the vehicle and further reduce movement, and key load-bearing points use stainless steel and brass to resist corrosion. The mirror glass itself is high-quality chrome glass.

Compliance

These mirrors are fully homologated and type-approved to the international standard UN 46-4, and are suitable for towing caravans up to the maximum legal width permitted in the UK and EU.

What to expect

Some light vibration can still occur on rough roads or in strong winds, which Milenco notes is normal for extended towing mirrors and shouldn't affect the clarity of your rearward view when properly fitted — even tightening of the clamps and careful alignment give the best results.
