Milenco makes both external and internal thermal blinds for motorhome and campervan cabs, and each is built for a different job rather than being straightforward alternatives to each other.
Fitted over the outside of the windscreen using an elasticated edge and the cab doors to hold it in place, this all-season cover blocks heat and glare in summer, reduces heat loss in winter, and helps prevent condensation. It's temperature tested from -20°C to +50°C and includes a zip-down panel so you can get light or visibility without removing it. Being external, it also shields the windscreen itself from direct sun and frost.
A 3-piece set (windscreen plus two side windows) fitted from inside using suction cups. The silver reflective outer face is specifically noted to improve thermal performance and block light, making it the stronger choice if privacy and light-blocking for sleeping matter as much as insulation.
The non-silver 3-piece internal set uses a lightweight, multi-layer construction with a reflective outer face for insulation and condensation reduction, fitted the same way with suction cups, and offering the same all-season, privacy and condensation benefits as the silver version.
If your main concern is protecting the windscreen from sun, frost and condensation while parked, the external blind is designed for that job. If you also want to block light for sleeping and add all-round privacy across the windscreen and side windows, one of the internal 3-piece sets covers that instead — and nothing stops you using an external cover together with an internal set for both benefits at once.
