Aero Platinum vs Grand Aero Platinum

Both use the latest Platinum clamp, which accepts mirror bezels up to 25mm thick and has gripper plates over fifty per cent larger than the older Aero 3 pads, plus a larger-diameter arm reaching caravans up to 2.55m wide. The difference is head size: the Grand Aero Platinum uses the wider-view Grand Aero head, and is homologated and type-approved to UN 46-4.

Standard arm vs XXL arm

The Aero 4 XXL and Grand Aero 3 XXL use a longer arm — approximately 41cm versus the standard 31cm — giving a wider field of view for wide caravans, particularly if your car is narrow relative to your outfit. The Grand Aero 3 XXL's head has been tested at speeds up to 220km/h.

Twin pack vs single

Most of the range is sold as a twin pack for both sides of the vehicle, but the Aero Flat Mirror is available as a single, flat-glass mirror that can be fitted on either side — a simpler, more affordable option if you only need to replace one mirror or want a flat rather than convex view.

Which to choose

Start with your caravan's width: up to 2.55m is covered by the standard-arm Platinum or Grand Aero Platinum mirrors, while wider outfits or a narrow tow car may need the XXL versions' extra reach. From there, decide between the standard Aero head or the wider-view Grand Aero head based on how much rearward visibility you want.
