Aero Flat Mirror Twin Pack: Features, Benefits and Installation

The Aero Flat Mirror Twin Pack is Milenco's original-style towing mirror with a flat glass head, supplied as a pair – one mirror for each side of the vehicle.

Fit

It uses Milenco's original universal clamping system, with an adjustable clamp head and tilting thumb wheels that shape the mirror to the contours of your vehicle's existing mirror, aiming for a secure, stable fit on almost all modern vehicles. If your vehicle has curved or tapered mirror housings, Milenco's Aero Pads may give a firmer grip; Milenco can confirm compatibility if you provide your vehicle's make, model and year.

Build

The mirror is made from corrosion-resistant materials, with stainless steel screws turning in brass inserts, and a chrome safety glass mirror surface. An upgraded gripper system is designed to stop the pads working loose, and the mirror avoids the use of straps, which Milenco says helps reduce vibration and wind noise. The mirror head has been tested at speeds of up to 155mph, and its aerodynamic shape uses airflow around the vehicle to help balance the head while towing, reducing the effect of crosswinds and passing vehicles.

What to know before you buy

Light movement can still occur on rough roads or in strong winds. This is normal for extended towing mirrors and shouldn't affect visibility or safety once the mirror is fitted correctly.

Legal requirements

If your caravan is wider than your car, UK law requires towing mirrors to be fitted on both sides of the vehicle. For vehicles approved to ECE 2003/97 or ECE 2005/27, or any car registered after 26 January 2007, towing mirrors may project up to 25cm beyond the widest point of the caravan; for older vehicles, the limit is 20cm.
