How they protect the mirror

The protectors are engineered to absorb and deflect impact energy rather than pass it through to the mirror. A ribbed outer shell narrows the contact area on impact, helping to disperse the energy away from the glass and housing, and the shell reaches up to 6mm thick in the most exposed areas. They wrap around the outer edge of the mirror, so they offer cover from both forward and reverse knocks — useful for tight manoeuvring as well as driving.
