Crystal Clear Visibility: Grand Aero Platinum Mirrors Twin Pack Explained

The Grand Aero Platinum Mirror combines Milenco's wide-view Grand Aero mirror head with their latest Platinum clamp. It's sold here as a twin pack — one mirror for each side of the vehicle, which is what you need for full rearward visibility when towing a caravan wider than your car.

Build and clamp design

The Platinum clamp body is larger than earlier Aero clamps and takes mirror bezels up to 25mm thick. Its sprung gripper plates are over 50% larger than the pads used on the Aero 3, giving a wider contact area that shapes itself to the vehicle's mirror housing for better grip and reduced vibration. The arm is a larger diameter for stability and long enough for caravans up to 2.55 metres wide. The mirror head is aerodynamically shaped to help balance airflow and further reduce movement. Stainless steel and brass are used at key load-bearing points to resist corrosion, and the mirror surface is chrome safety glass for long-term clarity.

Fitment

Grand Aero Platinum mirrors are designed to fit almost all modern cars, 4x4s and vans, including the tapered, aerodynamic mirror bezels common on newer vehicles. The sprung, rubber-faced gripper plates adjust to the shape of the housing for a secure fit even on awkward mirror shapes. What to expect on the road

The Platinum clamp noticeably reduces movement compared with older mirror designs, though some light vibration can still occur on rough surfaces or in strong winds — this is normal for extended towing mirrors and doesn't affect the clarity of the view once the mirrors are correctly fitted and evenly tightened.

Compliance

These mirrors are homologated and type-approved to UN 46-4, the current international towing mirror standard, and are suitable for towing caravans up to the maximum legal width permitted in the UK and EU.
