The Milenco OptiMate Extension Lead (460 cm / 15 ft) adds extra reach between an OptiMate charger or Milenco Solar controller and your battery box.

What it's for

It uses the standard SAE 2-pin quick connector, so it plugs in without tools between your OptiMate charger or Milenco Solar by OptiMate controller and the SAE ring-terminal or crocodile clamp lead already fitted to your battery. This is useful where the battery is tucked away somewhere the charger can't easily reach, letting you keep the unit itself accessible while the battery stays in its usual spot.

Build

The 4.6 metre cable is flexible and weather-resistant, with strain-relief mouldings at each end to make routing along sills, under seats or up to roof panels easier without stressing the connectors.

Using it

Route the lead away from sharp edges and moving parts, securing it with clips or ties where possible. Milenco advises against daisy-chaining multiple extensions together, as this can introduce voltage drop, and recommends keeping the connectors capped when not in use to protect them from dirt and moisture.
